Agrest

Agrest is an open-source Java framework and protocol designed to build REST APIs for data stores using a fluent Java DSL. It operates on top of the JAX-RS standard, providing fine-grained security and optimized client interactions by allowing filtering, sorting, and pagination of backend data graphs. The framework supports relational databases via Cayenne ORM out of the box while offering pluggable backends for NoSQL, LDAP, and other data sources.
