Ladybird is an open-source, independent web browser engine developed from scratch by a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It aims to provide a standards-compliant alternative to dominant commercial engines without user monetization or conflicts of interest. Currently in active development with an alpha release targeted for Linux and macOS in 2026.
