Traductor Mapuzungun

Traductor Mapuzungun is a non-profit digital initiative developing artificial intelligence-powered machine translation models between Mapuzungun and Spanish. Developed in collaboration with the University of Chile’s Anthropology Department and the Aukiñ Mapu Institute, the project aims to support the revitalization of this endangered indigenous language through accessible technology. The platform provides a free, open-source prototype for text translation while engaging the Mapuche community in continuous validation and improvement.
